HDL products conform to four standard, and internationally accepted protocols. Our products have been inspected and certified by:
KNX- The KNX association is the world leader in standardised home and building automation. To become certified by KNX, products must be inspected and tested to ensure their interoperability.
DALI- Alternatively known as Digital Addressable Lighting Interface, is a standard that ensures uniform illumination levels are achieved regardless of a components manufacturer.
ZigBee- The ZigBee Alliance consists of a group of companies that allow multiple manufacturers to create interoperable products.
Z-wave- The Z-Wave Alliance consists of over 250 manufactures who create interoperable products.
Due to the certification and inspection procedures HDL is able to provide automation solutions that meet the requirements set forth by these industry leaders.
The Association is the owner of the Worldwide STANDARD for Home and Building Control: KNX and also the owner of the KNX trademark logo worldwide. KNX Association is a non-profit-oriented organisation governed by Belgian Law. Members are manufacturers developing devices for several applications for home and building control based on KNX like lighting control, shutter control, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, energy management, metering, monitoring, alarm/intrusion systems, household appliances, audio/video and lots more. Next to manufacturers also service providers (utilities, telecom, …) can become a member of the KNX Association.
The Z-Wave Alliance is a consortium of over 250 independent manufacturers as of 2014, who have agreed to build wireless home control products based on the Z-Wave standard. Principal members include ADT, GE/Jasco, Evolve, Ingersoll-Rand, Linear, FAKRO and Sigma Designs. As of 2014, there are more than 1100 different products certified by the Z-Wave Alliance. Products and applications from the Z-Wave Alliance span all major market sectors for residential and light commercial control applications. These include lighting, HVAC and security control, as well as home theaters, automated window treatments, pool and spa controls, garage and access controls and more.
DALI stands for Digital Addressable Lighting Interface and is a protocol set out in the technical standard IEC 62386. The task of providing light in a room has long been resolved – the challenge today is to ensure that the right quality of light is provided. The list of parameters that need to be considered is long. Just a few are: brightness and glare, colour rendering and light colour, colour control and presence sensing. For these tasks, you need a reliable, reasonably priced and simple control system helping to address the challenges that modern lighting technology needs to meet – that’s DALI.
